There are several types of MS, each with distinct characteristics:
Relapsing-Remitting MS (RRMS): Characterized by clearly defined attacks of worsening neurological function (relapses) followed by periods of partial or complete recovery (remissions). Primary Progressive MS (PPMS): Characterized by steadily worsening neurological function from the onset of symptoms without early relapses or remissions. Secondary Progressive MS (SPMS): Initially follows a relapsing-remitting course, then transitions to a progressive form with or without occasional relapses. Progressive-Relapsing MS (PRMS): Characterized by a progressive course from the onset with occasional acute relapses.
